Outlook Email Setup

Please follow the instructions below to set up Outlook.


Outlook 2003

  1. Open Outlook 2003.
  2. Select Tools from the top menu.
  3. Then select E-mail Accounts.
  4. Select Add a new e-mail account then click Next.
  5. On the Server Type screen, select POP3 then click Next.
  6. Fill your information into the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) screen as follows:
    • Your Name: Type in your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your e-mail.
    • E-mail Address: Enter your full e-mail address.
    • User Name: Enter your full email address.
    • Password: Enter your e-mail password.
    • Incoming mail server (POP3): Enter your e-mail server name:
      • POP3 (Incoming)
        Server: mail.yourdomain.com(net, org) etc
        Port: 110
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
      • SMTP (Outgoing)
        Server: mail.yourdomain.com (net, org) etc
        Port: 587
  7. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and select My outgoing server requires authentication.
  8. Click Test Account Settings. If anything shows up as Failed, return to the previous window and double-check your settings.
  9. Click Finish. You can now use Outlook 2003 to send and receive e-mail.

Outlook 2002 XP

  1. Open Outlook 2002.
  2. Click on Tools from the top menu.
  3. Click on E-mail Accounts.
  4. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, select Add a new E-mail Account, and then click Next.
  5. In the Server Type box, click POP3, and then click Next.
  6. Fill your information into the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) screen as follows:
    • Your Name: Type in your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your e-mail.
    • E-mail Address: Enter your full e-mail address.
    • User Name: Enter your full email address
    • Password: Enter your e-mail password.
    • Incoming mail server (POP3): Enter your e-mail server name:
      • POP3 (Incoming)
        Server: mail.yourdomain.com(net, org) etc
        Port: 110
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
      • SMTP (Outgoing)
        Server: mail.yourdomain.com (net, org) etc
        Port: 587
  7. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and select My outgoing server requires authentication.
  8. Click Test Account Settings. If anything shows up as Failed, return to the previous window and double-check your settings.
  9. Click Finish. You can now use Outlook 2002 to send and receive e-mail.

Outlook 2000

  1. Open Outlook 2000.
  2. Click on Tools and select Accounts.
  3. Click on the Mail tab.
  4. Click on the Add button then select Mail.
  5. Type in your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your e-mail (for example: John Smith) and click Next.
  6. Enter your full e-mail address and click Next.
  7. Make sure your incoming mail server is set to POP3 server, then type in your incoming e-mail server name:
    1. POP3 (Incoming)
      Server: mail.yourdomain.com(net, org) etc
      Port: 110.
  8. Type in your outgoing SMTP e-mail server nameĀ  and click Next.
    1. SMTP (Outgoing)
      Server: mail.yourdomain.com (net, org) etc
      Port: 587
  9. Make sure your account name is displayed correctly (for example: jsmith).
  10. Type in your password (case sensitive) and click Next.
  11. Choose a "Friendly name" (anything you want, for example: John Smith, Johnny Smith or Smitty) and click Next.
  12. Select "Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN)" and click Next.
  13. Click Finish and then Close to exit the Internet Accounts window.


What is my e-mail server name?

POP3 (Incoming)

SMTP (Outgoing)

Port: 587
